TERMS OF USE & PRIVACY POLICY

All Mayastar teaching and communication is for information and educational purposes only.  The Mayastar Academy upholds the following code of ethics with respect to the practice of holistic therapies, natural healing techniques and holistic treatments:

CODE OF ETHICS

-          Natural Healing techniques can be used to complement any other healthcare practice. However, they are not a substitute for proper medical diagnosis and treatment provided by licensed healthcare professionals.

-          Natural Healers and Holistic Therapists do not diagnose conditions, nor do they perform medical treatments, prescribe substances, or interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional.

-          It is strongly recommended that you contact your physician or healthcare specialist if you have any concerns about your health.

-          If you intend to treat members of the public with any holistic therapy, you arrange professional liability insurance to protect the interests of both yourself and your clients.

-          For those considering setting up a business as a holistic therapist, we strongly advise observation of the laws applicable by your Inland Revenue service.  Within the UK, for example, a business must notify the Inland Revenue and register as a business within 3 months of setting up.  Failure to do so may result in expensive fines and drawn out investigation processes.

-          If treating others with holistic therapies or natural healing techniques, professionalism, caring, respect, responsibility, honesty, genuineness, integrity, confidentiality and the practitioner must always emphasize to the client that complementary therapeutic techniques are NOT alternative healing; a client must always be encouraged to continue to seek the advice and observe the treatment and recommendations of his/her healthcare professionals.

Use of the Mayastar Academy website, all communications and course materials distributed by Mayastar Academy are subject to these terms of use. 

These terms of use may be changed by us from time to time without specific notice to you. The latest terms of use will be posted on the Mayastar website, and you should always review these terms of use prior to using the website, subscribing to free information or making enquiries through the website for information/advice or enrolling on available courses, to ensure that you have a current understanding of the terms of use by which you are bound through your actions. If you cannot access the terms of use via the internet, a copy of the most recent terms of use can be made available to you upon request.

Proprietorship: Mayastar Academy and its website, www.mayastar.net is owned and operated by Rev. Anna May the founder and principal.

By accessing the Mayastar website, making enquiries for information from Mayastar Academy, or by enrolling on courses provided by Mayastar Academy, you are attesting that you agree, without reservation, to these terms of use which form a legally binding agreement. Whilst some graduating students of Mayastar Academy courses are professional medical practitioners, the majority have no medical qualifications or formal medical training. Ability and competence is not assured by graduation or certification provided by Mayastar Academy.  Mayastar Academy and Rev. Anna May makes no representations or warranties that graduates of Mayastar Academy are professional, ethical, skilled or competent healers, practitioners, advisors, counsellors, spiritual facilitators or teachers.

Mayastar Academy courses are provided for educational purposes only and use of the material and communications provided is at the student's sole responsibility and at their own risk; Mayastar Academy accepts no responsibility for the actions of current or former students. Mayastar Academy accepts no responsibility or liability for loss or damages, caused or alleged to have been caused by current or former students.

Advice and information provided through the Mayastar Academy website and distributed through Mayastar Academy courses or communication as a result of enquiries made to Mayastar Academy, is for information and educational purposes only. Collection of Personal Data Including E-mail Addresses: Student and membership records are held by Mayastar Academy. For the purposes of requests to validate graduation by third parties, in the circumstance that a third  party is able to provide us with the student's name or student reference, qualification conferred and the date of this achievement, we will provide confirm or deny as applicable the validity of the asserted qualification.

Use of Personal Data: We process your personal data only for specific and limited purposes. We ask only for data that is adequate, relevant and not excessive for those purposes.

We may contact you occasionally to inform you of new services we will be providing, or events or articles we think will be of interest to you.

We may send you requested information, certificates and course related material.

We may use your personal data internally to help us improve our services and to help resolve any problems.

 

Disclosure of your Personal Data: We do not share, sell or distribute your personal data with unrelated third parties, except under these limited circumstances:

We endeavour to handle such data properly and in accordance with our security protocols and strict standards of confidentiality. Although we cannot guarantee against any loss, misuse, unauthorised disclosure, alteration or destruction of data, we try to prevent such unfortunate occurrences.
